New Adopters/Conditional Adopters

Welcome to the Adopt-A-Program recruitment page! We're looking for groups and individuals to join the program as either a FORMAL ADOPTER. In 2015, participants cleaned up more 134 miles of Allen roadways, waterways, and spots removing 11, 502 lbs from the environment. We hope you can join the other volunteers in the community working to Keep Allen Beautiful.

Groups or individuals interested in becoming an ADOPTER must complete a conditional one (1) year contract. Conditional Adopters can hold a cleanup in Allen. Our conditional adopters clean all over Allen to sites that need special attention.

Contract are for one (1) year. Contracts are from October 1 thru August 31. Safety trainings, resupply of loaner bags and contracts must be completed in September.

  • Provide statistics report to Keep Allen Beautiful at the conclusion of each cleanup within ten days.
  • Submit photos via e-mail, Twitter, or Facebook.
  • Order and maintain cleanup supplies within two (2) weeks of each cleanup. Do NOT schedule months in advance.

Conditional adopters are new groups that are required to go through a guided year of cleanups.
Conditional adopters are experienced groups who need training in order to maintain their existing spots for liability reasons.

New adopters to go through the conditional program in order to expose them to a variety of different cleanup locations and terrains. It also allows them to decide if it is something they think they like doing. Experienced adopters become conditional adopter when they do not complete the terms of their contract or when their organization liaison changes. Safety training must be provided for liability reasons.

Conditional adopters without an existing cleanup location must do their cleanups selected from one of the cleanup locations listed on the watch list. Selection of location is based on what is available at the time of adoption NOT based on what is available at the time of cleanup. Groups must complete their conditional year prior to being allocated a sign and area.

  • November: Group must complete a cleanup within a two (2) window of the citywide cleanup effort known as Allen Recycles Day (1st Saturday in November).
